ELECT A PRO-LIFE PRESIDENT

I'm not much of a TV viewer, but recently I was glued to the TV set with CSPAN's coverage of the Christian Coalition's Road to Victory gathering in Washington. I would love to have been among the 4,000-plus who were there.

Among the GOP candidates, only three showed strong enough pro-life convictions that they have never once wavered. These three happen to be practicing Catholics. They are Rep. Robert Dornan of Calif.; Pat Buchanan, journalist and former Crossfire TV co-host; and Alan Keyes, the Maryland radio-talk-show host and former U.N. representative.

We Evangelicals are supposed to be the Bible believers, yet the Catholics have led the way on the sanctity of life. I thank God for them, and I say shame on us!

The other GOP candidates claim to be men of faith, yet they have wavered and made exceptions, and three of them even voted for Ruth Bader Ginsberg for the Supreme Court. These three are Gramm, Dole and Specter. So much for any of them being pro-life! These Supreme Court appointments are critical to ever overturning legalized abortion.

Time and time again, speakers said that we as a country are being given another chance to do right by nominating a pro-life candidate who promises to choose a pro-life running mate. Then, we have to make sure we turn out at the polls on Election Day to vote!
