Mr. Joseph Thomas Luning Jr., 37, died Monday, Sept. 18, 1995. He was born in St. Albans, N.Y. Joseph was a graduate of Hampton High School, Class of 1976. He attended Old Dominion University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. Joseph graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University in 1984. After graduating, he was employed by the City of Chesapeake as a security officer where he worked for ten years. He also served as Captain in the Virginia National Defense Force where he was a member since 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn Luning of Norfolk; his parents, Joseph and Margarete Luning Sr., of Hampton; two sisters, Daphne Luning of Hampton, Regina Hunich of Berlin, Germany; a brother-in-law, Werner Hunich; and nephew, Rene Hunich of Berlin.
A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home.
