Edith Holloway Peace, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1995.
She was a native of Brunswick County, Va., and was the daughter of the late Norman D. and Betty Rainey Holloway. She was the widow of Stuart M. Peace. Mrs. Peace was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and its Edith Peace Circle, which was named in her honor several years ago. She was a member of the Franklin Women's Club, Franklin Senior Citizen's and Franklin Chapter 128 of the Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was Past Worthy Matron. She was a former employee of Leggett Department Store and had retired from Union Camp Corp. after 25 years of service.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stuart Edward and Nancy Peace of Suffolk; a daughter-in-law, Emily B. Peace of Lawrenceville; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma H. and R. Baird Cabell of Franklin; a brother and sister-in-law, Drewery H. ``Doc'' and Virginia Holloway of South Hill; seven grandchildren, Whitney S. Peace, David H. Peace, Teresa P. Gendron, Tracey P. Norris, Angela P. Murphy, Kenneth B. Peace and Emily Stuart P. Harrison; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Edward Johnson. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Canaan Cemetery, La Crosse, Va., by the Rev. Byron McCreary. Eastern Star rites will be accorded at the funeral home after the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and suggests that memorials be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Hampton Roads Chapter, 20 Koger Center, Suite 223, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
