Essie Brown Cooper, of the 33000 block of Sandy Ridge Road, died Sept. 17, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.
She was a native of Southampton County, Va., and retired from the North Carolina, and Southampton County School Systems. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Franklin.
Survivors include one son, Hercules A. Carrington of Franklin; one sister, Gladys B. Carrington of Franklin; six brothers, Walter Brown, Albert Brown, Rudolph Brown, all of Franklin, Morris Brown of McLean, Va., Dr. Cyrus Brown and Madison Quinshaw Brown, both of Hampton.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, by the Rev. W.M. Brown Jr. Burial will be in Brown Family Cemetery, Franklin. A wake service will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in Wm. M. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home. Remains will be placed in the church for viewing at 11:30 a.m. Viewing will begin Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
