Navy investigators arrested Bresslin Morrison on desertion charges Tuesday after a tip to Norfolk police that the 24-year-old Navy petty officer was staying in the area.
Morrison, a crew member aboard the submarine tender L.Y. Spear, was taken to the Navy brig in Norfolk to await possible additional charges.
He is accused of an incident Sept. 8 in which he allegedly threatened a security officer on his ship, handcuffed her to a railing, then broke into an evidence locker containing a pistol and quantity of marijuana that was confiscated from him the day before.
