I concur with Bill Richardson's assessment (letter, Sept. 7) of those people who do not know that one of the primary rules of the road is courtesy.
But Mr. Richardson's logic for failing to follow proper procedures is inexcusable. It does a disservice to those of us who follow the rules of the road, and sets a poor example for those young drivers who are learning to operate a motor vehicle.
Remember: Observe all traffic at least one block ahead, scan rear and side mirrors and watch the blind spots. The life you save may be your own.
