A 37-year-old Norfolk man was killed when he was hit by an auto in the 3300 block of E. Ocean View Ave. late Wednesday night after he jumped from another car, police said Thursday.
Keith R. Prater of the 200 block of W. 33rd St. was riding in a 1985 Lincoln Continental with his sister just before 11 p.m. when they began to argue, police said.
He then decided to jump from the vehicle while it was moving at a slow speed. But after jumping he was struck and pinned under a 1978 AMC Hornet driven by a Virginia Beach man who was not charged.
Prater was dragged 250 to 300 feet under the car. He died at the scene.
