T. Calvin Lewis, 70, of Suffolk and Kill Devil Hills, N.C., died Sept. 22, 1995, in Obici Hospital.
Mr. Lewis was retired from the American General Insurance Company after 33 years of service. He was born in the Isle of Wight, Va., and was a Baptist. He was past president of the Life Underwriters Association, immediate past president of the Kiwanis Club of Suffolk, and a member of numerous other organizations during his lifetime. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Gray Lewis; two daughters, Brenda L. Fahed of Richmond, Va., Penny L. Withers of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister, Vivian L. Lewis of Zuni, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and other times in the residence. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 216 N.
