Gloria Gurley Phillips, 55, of 921 Oriole Circle, Apt. 101, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 1995, in her residence.
She was a native of Wallace, N.C., and was an administrative assistant with NationsBank, Norfolk Center. She was a member of the Virginia Beach Shag Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherri L. Borek and Ginger K. Phillips; one son, Thomas P. Carey; two brothers, William R. Gurley Sr. and Charles L. Gurley, all of Virginia Beach; one sister, Nell Vandergraff of Lafayette, Ind.; two granddaughters, Holly C. Borek and Taylor J. Fenstermaker, both of Virginia Beach; and one grandson, Bryan K. Otte of College Grove, Ore.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, by the Rev. Richard J. Yates. The family will receive friends in the Maestas Funeral Home, Baltic Avenue Chapel, Sunday night from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Building Fund, P.O. Box 945, Virginia Beach, 23451. After the service, everyone is invited back to Gloria's to be with the family.
