TOMMIE A. STORY

Tommie A. Story, 72, of the 28000 block of Beale Road in Handsom, died Sept. 21, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Story was a native of Southampton County and was the son of the late Allen and Lacy Story. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the retired owner and operator of Story's Construction Company in Smithfield.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Helen Wheeler Story; one daughter, Bettie Jean Barbier of Columbia, S.C.; three sons, Roger Story of Weldon, N.C., Melvin Story of Waterbury, Conn., and Michael Allen Story of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Helen F. Story; four brothers, Frank Story, John B. Story, Howard L. Story and Ernest Story, all of Franklin; 10 grandhchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Story was predeceased by one son, Robbie Earl Story.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald Watkins. The burial will be at Mt. Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
