Louise Cropper Sinnott, 81, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 1995, in her residence from lung cancer.
A homemaker, she was born in Vandemere, N.C., on Oct. 17, 1913, and had resided in Virginia Beach since 1973. During World War II, Mrs. Sinnott served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, achieving the rank of captain. She served in the defense of Pearl Harbor and was on active duty from 1937 until 1945. She received the Asiatic Pacific Service Ribbon with Bronze Star and the American Defense Service Ribbon.
For 51 years she was the loving wife of Capt. Robert E. Sinnott, USN retired. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael E. Sinnott and his wife, Jean of Virginia Beach, and Christopher J. Sinnott and his wife, Ann Morgan of Alexandria, Va. Mrs. Sinnott is also survived by a granddaughter, Jennifer Louise Sinnott. We will miss you mother.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Jack Austin of First Christian Church, Norfolk, in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Sentara Hospice Program.
