THOMAS HURDLE

Thomas Hurdle, of the 7000 block of University Drive, died Sept. 20, 1995, in Norfolk.

Mr. Hurdle, a retired custodian, worked for the Norfolk Greater Plaza and the Norfolk Navy Supply Center. He was born in Edenton, N.C. He was a member of St. John's AME Church, Norfolk, member of the steward board, Brotherhood For Christ Lay Organization, Chesapeake Fellowship Group, and Excelsior Lodge No. 87, Masonic.

Survivors include his wife, Norma C. Hurdle; one daughter, Sylvia Craft of Norfolk; one sister, Doris Wheeler of Suffolk; two grandchildren, Eric and Karen; one aunt, Ida King of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roseanna Hurdle and Miles Hurdle Sr.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in St. John's AME Church by the Rev. I.W. Knight Sr. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The family will assemble at his residence. Hale Funeral Home in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
