CAREER TRACK

BANKING

Robert C. Wilkerson III was named vice president and office manager of Jefferson National Bank, Airline Boulevard office in Portsmouth. Wilkerson has 16 years of prior lending experience with Central Fidelity Bank in Virginia Beach and Mutual Federal Savings & Loan Association in Norfolk.

ACCOUNTING

Christopher A. Smith was promoted from certified public accountant to manager at Witt, Mares & Company in Virginia Beach. Smith has been with the firm since July, 1994. He was previously employed with Failes & Associates in Virginia Beach.

ARCHITECTURE J. Grey Mason was appointed vice president of architectural services at Cox, Kliewer & Co. in Virginia Beach. Mason joined the firm in 1987 and most recently worked as project architect. He was previously employed by Probst-Mason Inc., a firm in Baltimore.

Also, Jeff S. Krauss is a new intern architect with Cox, Kliewer & Company. Krauss's first project with the company will entail the design of an administrative office building for TWA in Norfolk. Prior to joining the firm, Krauss was employed by Kroskin Design Group in Norfolk.

EDUCATION

Wendy Walser was named a student success counselor at Johnson & Wales University, College of Culinary Arts in Norfolk. She will conduct personal, academic and career counseling within Johnson & Wales' student services department. She will also be responsible for student workshops and diversity awareness. Prior to this, she served as an adjunct faculty member and tutor coordinator at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin.

ENGINEERING

James A. Lane has joined the structural engineering department at Clark, Nexsen, Owen, Barbieri, Gibson Architects and Engineers in Norfolk. He was previously employed at Marshall Erdman & Associates in Madison, Wis. He has 20 years of experience with the building construction industry.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Tom Edmonds has joined Dr. Barry F. Atlas and the Eastern Virginia Eye Center. He completed an internship at Riverside Hospital and an ophthalmology research fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina and Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, La.

Ramon C. Darcey was named director of Sentara Home Care and Hospice Services in Norfolk. Darcey has 20 years of healthcare experience. He spent the last two years as the general manager of U.S. Home Care in Hartford, Conn. Prior to that, he was president of MEDIQ Healthcare in Harrisburg, Pa.

Dr. Scott A. Miller, a physician in internal medicine at NDC Medical Center in Norfolk, was appointed medical director for Sentara Home Care and Hospice Services. Miller has also been an assistant professor in clinical internal medicine at the Eastern Virginia Medical School since 1983.

INSURANCE

James L. Sisson III, Lowery D. Finley III and James L. Kitchin Jr. were promoted from producers to vice presidents at HRH of Tidewater in Virginia Beach.

LAW

Michael J. Woodworth has become an associate of Wilcox & Woods in Norfolk. His practice consists of civil litigation, criminal defense, collections and domestic relations. Woodworth spent the past five years on active duty in the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps, Norfolk.

MANUFACTURING

A. Ward King was promoted to vice president of sales of the South Atlantic region for Lehigh Portland Cement Co. in Norfolk. He was most recently regional manager of South Mid-Atlantic for Lehigh.

Manfred Schwarz, executive vice president at chain saw and power equipment manufacturer, Stihl Inc., is now the official honorary consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for Hampton Roads and surrounding southeastern Virginia communities.

MEDIA

Philip Evans has joined International Family Entertainment in Virginia Beach as associate counsel. Prior to joining the company, Evans specialized in litigation and transactional work on behalf of small and medium-sized businesses for the law offices of George W. Campbell Jr. & Associates in Arlington, Va.

MORTGAGE

Kevin W. Hull was promoted to vice president/branch manager at Beach Fed Mortgage Corp., Corporate Woods branch in Virginia Beach. Hull joined Beach Fed in September, 1994 as production manager for Virginia Beach. He will manage the origination of residential mortgages in Virginia Beach.

RETAIL

Richard J. Rosser was named store manager of the Leggett Department Store at Lynnhaven Mall, Virginia Beach. Rosser has been with Leggett for over 30 years and is returning to the Tidewater area after several years as store manager of a Leggett store in Glen Allen, Va. He previously managed Leggett stores in Newport News, Portsmouth, Norfolk and Hampton. MEMO: Career Track reports upper-level executive and management changes. Items
