ROSE B. UMPHLETT

Rose Nell Bass Umphlett, 51, of the 1700 block of Holland Road, died early Sunday morning, Sept. 24, 1995, in her home.

Mrs. Umphlett was born in Gates County. A homemaker, she was a member of Warwick Baptist Church in Hobbsville. She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Richard Bass.

Surviving are two daughters, Teresa U. Whitmore and Suzette U. Barden, both of Suffolk; one son, Lee Umphlett of Suffolk; her mother, Hazel Spivey Bass of Hobbsville; two sisters, Mary Ella Smith of Eure and Helen Marie Paul of Alexandria, Va.; one brother, Jesse R. Bass of Hobbsville; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Warwick Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Hupp. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge of arrangements. Friends may join the family at the home of her mother, Route 1, Hobbsville.
