I was excited by ``Tax resources instead of labor'' (Business Weekly, Sept. 18).
Resource taxes seem like the ideal way to promote conservation, encourage efficiency and allow workers to keep the majority of what they work so hard to earn. Such a plan seems almost too good to be true; it ought to have a catch, but I have been unable to find it. Otherwise, why hasn't this come up before?
The concept is so simple. Unless there is a significant reason why this plan would fail, which only our politicians can see (i.e., they didn't think of it first), it should go straight to Washington. It may be just what America needs.
