Barbara B. Decker-Buchanan, of the 400 block of W. Princess Anne Road, died Sept. 24, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
She was the owner of Gourmet Goodies. Mrs. Decker-Buchanan was a native of Philadelphia, Pa. She was the former owner of Decker Studios of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Richmond and Greenwich, Conn., and Gallery 32 of Virginia Beach, and was a member of Ohef Sholom Temple in Norfolk, Va. Mrs. Decker-Buchanan was a past member of ORT, The Azalea Festival Committee; a former president, vice president, board member, state vice president, and a member of National Committees for the Arthritis Foundation; charter member of the Chrysler Museum; past executive director and board member of the Tidewater Ballet.
Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Buchanan Jr. of Norfolk; a son, Bradley Harris Decker of Portsmouth; her mother and father, Blossom Abramson Berson and Dr. Maxwell Berson, both of Norfolk; a sister, Joanne B. Bodner, and her husband, Dr. Bruce I. Bodner, of Norfolk; a brother, Stephen L. Berson of Virginia Beach; one niece, Holly Bodner; and one nephew, Alexander Berson, and many very special aunts, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1995, at Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Lawrence A. Forman. The family will be at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Maxwell Berson, 6920 Gardner Drive, Norfolk, Va. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk will be handling the arrangements.
