Dennis Keith Turner, 38, of 755 Turlington Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 24, 1995, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
Dennis was a native of Portsmouth and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Suffolk. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy and had recently been employed as a clerk for Howard Johnson's of Norfolk.
Survivors include his parents, Wilson E. and Annette Bennett Turner; two sisters, Denise T. Saunders and Lisa Deane Turner; one brother, Desmond H. Turner; his paternal grandmother, Mamie Wiggins Turner, all of Suffolk; four nieces; and one nephew.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Friends may join the family at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of his parents, 755 Turlington Road, Suffolk. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1413, Suffolk, Va. 23439, or to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box, 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
