Dennis Lockhart, 77, of the 1000 block of Joyner St., died Sept. 21, 1995, at DePaul Medical Center. He was born in Alabama.
Mr. Lockhart served 22 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy and had been retired for 32 years. He was a faithful member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church of Norfolk.
Mr. Lockhart is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Lockhart of Norfolk; sisters, Rosie Bell Lockhart and Mary Ann Jones, both of Dothan, Ala.; nieces; nephews; grandnieces and nephews; great-grandnieces and nephews; great-great grandnieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995, at 1:00 p.m. in Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Norfolk, Dr. Raymond Dean presiding. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends and family at the residence. Body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The family will assemble at the residence at 12:15 p.m. for the procession to the church. Viewing at the funeral home today beginning at 11 a.m. E. A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge.
