Iva Johnson Hoggard, 67, of Rt. 3, died Monday in Albemarle Hospital.
She was a native of Bertie County and a member of New Hope Methodist Church. She was also a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband James J. Hoggard; daughter, Charlette Annette Gwaltney of Chesapeake; one son, James A. Hoggard of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Vivian Castelloe of Windsor, Annie Mae Belangia of Elizabeth City, N.C., Carolyn White of Windsor and Ruth Ann Leggett of Windsor; two brothers, Lloyd C. Johnson of Windsor, N.C. and Charles Johnson of Ahoskie, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Walker Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Tony Collier. Burial will follow in Ross Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
