Richard Jordan Gatling, 84, of 202 East Water St., died Monday, Sept. 25, 1995, at home. He was a native of Bertie County and was a member of Cashie Baptist Church. He was a retired Timber Dealer.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Link Gatling of Windsor, N.C.; one daughter, Elizabeth Gatling Holmes of New Bern, N.C.; one sister, Esther Gatling Peele of Williamston, N.C.; grandson, Fred Hayes Miller Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; and granddaughter, Caroline Gatling Miller of Greenville, N.C.
The family will receive friends at 202 East Water St. Memorial gifts may be made to the Bertie County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 4, Windsor, N.C. 27983, or to the Windsor Fire Dept., P.O. Box 508, Windsor, N.C. 27983. Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, is in charge of arrangements. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Edgewood Cemetery by the Rev. Jack Byrd and the Rev. Grover Everette.
