George William Belch, 81, of the 300 block of Rockpile Road, died Sept. 25, 1995, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
He was a retired service technician for Suburban Gas Co. and was a native of Bertie County, N.C. Mr. Belch was also a member of Powellsville Baptist Church and Davie Masonic Lodge: Powellsville Scrub Club.
He is survived by his wife, Permelia Mills Belch; one daughter, Molly B. Sain of Winston Salem, N.C.; two sons, William R. Belch of Chesapeake, and Merrill W. Belch of Waldorf, Md.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. C.T. Edmondson in Garrett Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stoney Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Colerain Rescue Squad, Colerain, or Roanoke-Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie.
