The Neptune Festival princesses and ladies of the royal order this year include:
Princess - Jennifer Duberstein, daughter of Paul and Gail Duberstein, is a senior at Kellam High School. She devotes much of her time to community volunteer activities and serves as an anchor person on Virginia Beach Television. Jennifer plans to attend college to major in broadcast communications.
Princess - Quiana Erb, daughter of Dawn and Danny Erb Sr., is a senior at Green Run High School. She attended Girls' State in June and participates in field hockey, cross-country running, basketball and track. Quiana plans to pursue a doctoral degree in either education or medicine.
Princess - Amy Mendenhall, daughter of Sharon and Ted Mendenhall, is a seniot at Princess Anne High School. Amy is active in the Latin Club and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
Princess - Beth Miller, daughter of Johnnie and Judy Miller, has a 4.0 grade point average at Kempsville High School. A senior, she received the outstanding volunteer award at Sentara Leigh Hospital and would like to attend the College of William and Mary before pursuing a law or medical doctoral degree.
Princess - Christy Johnson, daughter of Lyn and Glenda Johnson, is the yearbook editor-in-chief at Cox High School. Christy, a senior, is a member of The Virginian-Pilot Scholastic Achievement Team and plans for a career in business and humanities following college.
Princess - Meghan Logsdon, daughter of Richard and Mary Pat Logsdon, is a varsity cheerleader at Cox High School. A senior, she hopes to attend the University of Virginia or Virginia Tech to pursue a career in law or social service.
Lady of the Royal Order - Kathryn Pierce, is a senior at Norfolk Academy and is a descendant of royalty. Her father, Peter, is a previous king's triton. Leilani Pierce is her mother. Katheryn is active in the performing arts and is considering advanced studies in theater, advertising or English.
Lady of the Royal Order - Jennifer Russell, a senior at Norfolk Christian High School, is the daughter of Gary and Cindy Russell. She was an attendant to King Neptune in 1988. She plans to pursue a career in teaching or missions. ILLUSTRATION: Jennifer Duberstein
