James Wayne Spencer, 49, of the 500 block of Etheridge Road died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Spencer was born in Norfolk and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also an owner of Trademark Mechanical Inc., a heating and air conditioning company located in Virginia Beach. Mr. Spencer was a member of the Sebrell Hunt Club, South Hampton County, Va., and he attended Great Hope Baptist Church in Chesapeake.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Long Spencer; his parents, Elmer Clark and Pauline Spinks Spencer; his three sons, James Lewis Spencer, Samuel Robert Spencer, and Matthew Paul Spencer; two sisters, Shirley Sitterson and Susan Armstrong; two brothers, Edward C. Spencer and Lewis N. Spencer; and his mother-in-law, Virginia Long, all of Chesapeake.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 1995, in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. John Godfrey. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Hope Baptist Church, 1401 Battlefield Blvd. South, Chesapeake, Va. 23322.
