Louis C. Benton, 77, of 1096 Freeman Mill Road, Suffolk, died Sept. 25, 1995, at his residence.
A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of the late James Carlton Benton and Mary Jones Benton. Mr. Benton was a retired farmer and member of Great Fork Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Doris B. Benton, on February 15, 1995.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Howard C. Benton and Arlene B. Benton; two grandsons, Philip C. Benton and Jeffrey T. Benton, all of Suffolk.
A graveside service takes place today at 2 p.m by the Rev. Thomas R. Edwards in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
