Jim Brown, 84, of the 1300 block of Green St., died Sept. 25, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mr. Brown, a native of Capron, Va., was a member of Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was the widower of Beatrice Brown.
Survivors include one daughter, Willie Mae Staley of Portsmouth; five sisters, Gloria Boone of North Carolina, Ida Mae Brown of Suffolk, Kattie Brown and Maxine Brown, both of New York, and Mary Etta Young of New Jersey; two brothers, Emmit Brown of New York and James Brown of Philadelphia, Pa.; four grandchildren, Debra Wilkins, Doneva Peat, Joy Patrice Campbell, all of Portsmouth, and Ronald Staley of New York; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Third Baptist Church by the Rev. Joe B. Fleming. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
