CRIME DROP SEEN IN U.S. MILITARY OVERSEAS

Crimes by U.S. servicemen abroad have dramatically declined.

The overall number of criminal cases involving U.S. military personnel in foreign nations - ranging from traffic violations to murder and other violent crimes - has declined by about two-thirds in the past five years, Pentagon records indicate.

The statistical improvement has occurred partly because there are far fewer U.S. military personnel overseas today than in 1990 when the Pentagon began cutting troops. by CNB
