USAIR TO SWITCH GATES AT RICHMOND AIRPORT

USAir and Richmond International Airport officials are close to an agreement that would send USAir packing - to the other side of the airport. Richmond's dominant airline could occupy four new gates on a recently expanded Concourse A - on the left, facing the airfield - by Thanksgiving. The Capital Region Airport Commission has authorized the airport staff to reach a final plan with USAir. Both sides favor the move. The commission hopes to vote on the deal at next month's meeting. USAir currently leases four gates on Concourse C, to the right, and subleases a fifth gate to Continental Airlines. (Knight-Ridder/Tribune Business News) by CNB
