FRANCES B. WADE

Frances Bright Wade, 72, of the 1200 block of Taft Road, died Friday, Sept. 29, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Wade, the widow of Richard Oscar ``Dick'' Wade, was born in Norfolk. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Leonard and Nettie Tayloe Bright. Mrs. Wade had retired from Southland Corporation. She was an active member of Hickory United Methodist Church, Chesapeake. Mrs. Wade was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of the Tidewater 29's Cribbage Club, Chesapeake Little Theater, and the Chicamacomico Anglers Club, Rodanthe, N.C.

Survivors include three daughters, Frances Griffin of Grandy, N.C., Joanne Cuthrell of Norfolk, and Joyce Rhodes of Chesapeake; her son, Alton Wade of Tampa, Fla.; her sister, Susan Pratt, and her two brothers, Melvin Bright and Oscar Bright, all of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Tom Mercer and the Rev. Jim Clark. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and all other times at 1101 Taft Road, Chesapeake. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or to the Union Mission.
