A shopping center with bookseller Barnes & Noble, Circuit City and discounter Target is planned for Newport News. The Yoder Farms Shopping Center, which will be about 400,000 square feet, will be located on Jefferson Avenue next to Patrick Henry Mall. The developer plans to break ground next month or early November and open the center in the fall of 1996, according to Sigma National, a Richmond-based commercial real estate company that's leasing the property. The 40-acre Yoder farm property recently was acquired by developers Omni Group and Woodmont Companies - both from Texas - and Dayton Hudson Corp., Target's parent company. Target has purchased about 17 acres on the southern part of the property. (Staff) by CNB
