Rachel M. Amos, 73, of the 1200 block of Rose Ave., a retired teacher, died Sept. 29, 1995.
Mrs. Amos was born in Portsmouth and was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She had retired from the Portsmouth and Norfolk County public school systems.
Survivors include her husband, Christopher A. Amos Jr.; a daughter, Rachel A. Griffin of Richmond, Va.; and a granddaughter, April M. Griffin.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph L. Roberts. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hampton University or the American Cancer Society.
