Julian Dorsey Blanchard, 80, of the 1100 block of Melvin Drive, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Blanchard, a native of Hobbsville, N.C., was the son of the late Walter and Annie Howell Blanchard. He was retired from Sears and Tri City Tires as a salesman. He was a member of Alexander Baptist Church and taught the Fishers of Men Sunday School Class for many years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Boyce Blanchard; a brother, Ellsworth Blanchard of Tyner, N.C.; four nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Alan G. Moor. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today.
