Beatrice F. Dillard of the 200 block of Truxton Ave., a retired teacher, died Sept. 30, 1995, in Beverly Manor of Portsmouth.
Mrs. Dillard was born in Dinwiddie County, Va., daughter of the late Bettie and Charles Fields. She had retired from the Chesapeake public schools after 26 years. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and the Excelsior Club, Missionary Circle and Finance Committee of the church. She was also a member of the University Women Association and Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph C. Dillard; a daughter, Jacquelyn D. Bond of Chesapeake; three sisters, Ruby F. Tucker, Gertrude F. Pegram and Octavia F. Peterson, all of Petersburg, Va.; two grandchildren, Sheila Kearney of Virginia Beach and Everett Bond III of Chesapeake; three great-granchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph L. Roberts. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The family will be at the home of her daughter, 1316 Sunnybrook Terrace, Chesapeake, and will assemble there for the funeral service.
