TALMADGE R. MITCHELL

Talmadge R. Mitchell, 65, of Chesapeake, died Sept. 30, 1995.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Bedford County, Va., and was retired as a bridge tender from Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was the widower of Juanita L. Mitchell and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane M. Manning of Dayton, Ohio; a son, Jeffery L. Mitchell of Virginia Beach; his mother, Myrtle E. Mitchell of Norfolk; a sister, Janice H. McLawhorn of Portsmouth; two brothers, William V. Mitchell of Norfolk and Bobbie H. Mitchell of Yorktown, Va.; and three grandchildren, Devin, Cody and Sarah.

The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. A funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne Murphy at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Updike Funeral Home, Huddleston, Va., where visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Leftwitch Methodist Church Cemetery, Huddleston.
