IDA M. JORDAN

Ida Mae Jordan, 67, of the 5900 block of Fawkes St., died Sept. 29, 1995, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.

She was a native of Norfolk County and was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church, Portsmouth. She was a self-employed day-care provider.

She is survived by three daughters, Maria L. Jones, Phylise T. Jordan and Kim D. Jones, all of Portsmouth; god-daughter, Marda K. Spruill of Portsmouth; five sons, Vernon A. Jones, Harry C. Jordan, John E. Jordan, Mario D. Jones, and Ray A. Jones, all of Portsmouth; mother, Pettroner Jones of Portsmouth; six sisters, Dorothy E. Bullock, Irene Gainey, Carolyn E. Drew, Julia A. Ellis, Cornelia E. Nedab, all of Portsmouth, and Marion V. Stout of Fayetteville, N.C.; six brothers, Linwood N. Jones, Aaron S. Jones, Rious Jones, all of Portsmouth, Elmore Jones of Chesapeake, Leroy Jones of Suffolk, and Arthur Jones of Kenansville, N.C.; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Alvin K. Jordan.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Melvin O. Marriner in Grove Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Burial is in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Thursday. The family will be at the home of her mother, Pettroner Jones, 6015 Arthur Ave., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral services. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
