Jesse Lee``Pete'' Peterson, of the 2800 block of Beachmont Ave., died Sept. 27, 1995, in a local hospital.
He was a pipefitter for the Fort Lee Army Base and was a native of Plymouth, N.C. He was a Baptist and was a retired Navy Veteran. He was also a member of the American Legion Post (NU)5.
He is survived by his wife, Christeola Peterson; step-daughter, Kimberly Ryals of Norfolk; son, Jesse Lee Peterson of Philadelphia; three stepsons, Michael, DeAngelo, Terrance Sykes, all of Norfolk; step-father, Robert Moses of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Gloria Peterson Joyner of Norfolk, Edith Peterson of Norfolk, and Van Lee Green of Plymouth, N.C.; mother-in-law, Dorothy Brown of Norfolk; and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Mayfield.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon Wednesday by the Rev. Anthony Moses in Metropolitan Funeral Chapel, Norfolk. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Friends will assemble with the family at 2832 Beachmont Ave., Norfolk on Wednesday at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession to the chapel.
