Although the weekend started out a little cool and breezy on Friday evening, fair skies and bright sunshine welcomed thousands upon thousands of Neptune Festival-goers to the 22nd annual fall gala's weekend finale.
``It went absolutely wonderfully well,'' said Nancy Creech, festival president. ``It was a great weekend.''
People jammed the Boardwalk for the art and craft show, food booths, sandcastle competition and entertainment and, on Sunday afternoon, swarmed Atlantic Avenue for the Neptune parade.
No official estimates have been made, but the crowd was as large if not larger than last year, Creech said.
The Friday Beacon will include winners of festival events. ILLUSTRATION: NEPTUNE FESTIVAL
