William Henry Jones Sr., of the 700 block of W. 38th St., died Sept. 29, 1995, in Lafayette Villa Nursing Center, Norfolk.
Mr. Jones, a mechanic at the Norfolk Naval Base, was born in Everetts, N.C. He was the widower of Florida Bell Jones and a member of Hoods Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Berkley, Norfolk. He was a retired Navy veteran, having served 20 years.
Survivors include one son, William H. Jones Jr. of Norfolk; one sister, Dollether Kelley of Hampton; three brothers, George Jones of Chesapeake, Ben Ellis of Steubenville, Ohio, and Willie Ellis of Detroit, Mich.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Hoods Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, by the Rev. Clarence Cuffee. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral Home in charge.
