Jacquelyn Brent Dennis, 70, of the 3500 block of King St., passed away Oct. 3, 1995, in Maryview Hospital.
Mrs. Dennis was a licensed independent insurance agent for 45 years. She was employed for many years at Walke-Parks Insurance Corp. in Norfolk, and retired from Henderson-Phillips Insurance in 1990. She was a charter member and actively involved with the Norfolk Association of Insurance Women. Since retirement Mrs. Dennis was actively involved with the Deep Creek Senior Citizens Club. She was also an active member of Westhaven Baptist Church.
Mrs. Dennis was the widow of William M. ``Buck'' Dennis of Portsmouth. She is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn D. Forehand of Chesapeake; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Brent Rollins of Riverdale, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
In accordance with her wishes, her body has been donated to science. A memorial service will be held by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood at 1 p.m. Thursday in Westhaven Baptist Church, Caroline Avenue, at King Street in Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at Westhaven Baptist Church (Fellowship Hall) from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today.
