Evelyn Williams Cabell, 80, a resident of Wakefield, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1995, in Louise Obici Hospital in Suffolk.
Mrs. Cabell was a native of Northampton County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Steven D. and Mattie Askew Williams. She graduated from Newsoms High School and retired as a chief operator for C&P Telephone Co., Norfolk, after 30 years of service. She was member of Millfield Baptist Church in Ivor.
She is survived by her son, Newit E. Cabell Jr. of Wakefield; a brother, Gerbert L. Williams of Vero Beach, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy W. Hill of Capron; two grandchildren, Steven B. Cabell of Ivor, Debora P. Bradshaw of Greenville, N.C.; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Luke's Cemetery, Smithfield, by the Rev. Michael W. Harrell. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Vol. Rescue Squad or to Millfield Baptist Church, Ivor, Va. 23866.
