GLORIA A. AYBAR

Gloria A. Aybar was born in Santo Domingo, Oct. 19, 1909. She returned to the fullness of God's Kingdom Oct. 3, 1995.

She came to the United States at age 12 and was the companion of her late Aunt Victoria A. Manly. They lived in a home they purchased on Gillis Road in the Cradock section of Norfolk County (now Portsmouth) since the summer of 1936. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Sewing Club of the church. Her life was centered on her family, her friends, her work as a ``nanny'' and her church. She loved flowers and animals and both prospered in her care. She was a faithful woman who left this earth and the people she knew better for being here.

She has a cousin, Ida Schimmel of Norfolk.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday at noon by Father James E. Dorson in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 34 Afton Pkwy. Burial will be in Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery. May she live forever with the Lord in Peace. Foster Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
