FASHION SHOW WILL BENEFIT HOSPITAL

A 12-YEAR-OLD ``graduate'' of Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters and 15 members of the Virginia Mass Choir are featured models in a fashion extravaganza Friday.

The ``Fashion on the Horizon'' show benefits the parent sleep rooms at Children's Hospital. These rooms allow parents to stay close to their critically ill or injured children.

The show begins at the Norfolk Omni at 12:45 p.m., with a luncheon beginning at noon.

The traveling show includes 14 professional models, three fashion coordinators and a stylist. In Norfolk, they'll add a crew of local models, the choir members and young Kevin Welch, who was treated at the hospital as a toddler.

When he was 13 months old, Kevin placed his feet in 140-degree water, causing second-degree and third-degree burns. After several skin grafts, his wounds healed. The hospital and his surgeon covered his $18,000 worth of bills.

Joe Flanagan of WVEC-TV will serve as emcee, and Amber Medlin, Miss Virginia 1995, will be a special guest. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
