John Masters Phillips, of the 100 block of Conway Avenue, a retired sales and service representative, died Oct. 3, 1995.
Mr. Phillips was a native of Frostburg, Md., and a resident of Norfolk for over 50 years. He was a retired sales and service representative with Jones and Frank Oil Equipment, Norfolk, for 25 years, and was formerly employed with Petroleum Engineering Company. He was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Norfolk. Mr. Phillips was a member of Tidewater Rose Society.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Margaret Casto Phillips of Norfolk; a brother, Charles A. Phillips of Ardmore, Tenn.; three nieces, Dorothy Jean Morton of Wilmington, Del., Dianne Phillips Courtney of Washington, D.C., Susan Phillips Clodfelter of Madison, Ala.; five nephews, James Joseph Phillips of Miami, Fla., David Morton of Warner Robins, Ga., John N. Phillips of Washington, D.C., and Lee and Myron Phillips, both of Nashville, Tenn.
A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Pauls Episcopal Church by the Rev. Hugh C. White III. Burial will be Saturday at Woodmere Cemetery, Huntington, W.Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, will be handling the arrangements.
