Gertrude Midyette Cullifer, 77, formerly of Belhaven, N.C., and Pantego, N.C., died Monday, Oct. 2, 1995, in Georgian Manor in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Cullifer was born in Beaufort County on March 5, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Howell W. and Edith Warner Midyette. Mrs. Cullifer was a member of the Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to Statz Daniel Cullifer Sr., who preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1989.
Survivors include four sons, Statz Daniel Cullifer Jr. of Portsmouth, Travis L. Cullifer of Chesapeake, Albert E. Cullifer of Chesapeake and Christopher D. Cullifer of Charlotte; one sister, Mrs. Raymond ``Helen'' Marshall of Chesapeake; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cullifer was preceded in death by a brother, Howell L. Midyette.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church, Belhaven, N.C., by the Rev. David Brooks and the Rev. Henry Gray. Burial will be in Belhaven Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven.
