William Carroll Copeland, 59, of Route 1, died Oct. 4, 1995, in N.C. Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, N.C.
He was a native of Hertford County, N.C. and was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, N.C. where he was a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He was a retired farmer and owner/operator of Carroll's & Glenn's Gun Shop.
He is survived by his wife, Meredith Martin Copeland; two sons, W.C. Copeland Jr. of Monroeville, Ala., Gregory Copeland of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; sister, Vernelle Ferguson of Tarboro, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Billy C. Sellers in Meherrin Baptist Church, Murfreesboro. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Garrett Funeral Home, Murfreesboro, in charge. Family will receive friends at the home.
