ALICE R. RODGERS

Alice R. Rodgers, 100, of the first block of Manly St., died Oct. 2, 1995, in Maryview Medical Center.

She was a native of Nansemond County and was a member, deaconess and church mother of Little Mount Zion Baptist Church in Suffolk. She was a pastor's aide, member of the Missionary Society and the Floral Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Everlena Daughtery of New York City; one son, William J. Rodgers of Portsmouth; one brother, James Reid of Albany, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Annie Rodgers of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Little Mount Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. C.W. Cuffee. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be in Corprew Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Friday. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken the church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
