Helen E. Vaughan, 74, of the 3800 block of Nansemond Parkway, died Oct. 3, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Vaughan, the widow of Sandy R. Vaughan, was a retired custodian. She worked for the Ocean Highway Motel for 20 years. She was born in Norfolk County, Va., and was a 42-year member of Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include two daughters, Lydia E. Perry and Sandra L. Whitfield, both of Suffolk; one son, Walter R. Vaughan of Suffolk; one brother, Ernest Gwathney of Chesapeake; five grandchildren, Antoinette Whitfield, Carlton Whitfield, Shane Whitfield, Christal Perry and Charity Perry; one great-grandchild, Antoine' D. Jackson; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Odessa Britt and Ellen Gwathney, James C. Vaughan and Lebron Britt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Third Baptist Church by the Rev. Joe B. Fleming. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 2 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Friday.
