Herbert Clifford Schermerhorn, 58, of the 600 block of Fairview Lane, died Oct. 3, 1995, in his residence.
He was a native of Kingston, N.Y., and was employed as a state auto inspector for Fink's Auto Service for 22 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty P. Schermerhorn; step-daughter, Carol D. Brown of Portsmouth; sister, Shirley Hanley of Perkasie, Pa.; two brothers, Bernard E. Schermerhorn of Kingston, Rev. Raymond Schermerhorn of Clintonville, Pa.; and granddaughter, Katie Brown.
A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Ken Rice. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
