Congressman Walter B. Jones Jr. announced the approval of a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant of $250,000 for Hyde County, Wednesday.
Jones said that the grant will be used to study the feasibility of launching a rural agribusiness export development project in Hyde and other northeastern North Carolina counties.
``This is an important first step in a process that could provide local employment for Hyde County people and markets for our local products,'' said county Manager Angie Tooley. ``We encourage our citizens to become familiar with and participate in this development.'' by CNB
