William Benjamin Wilkins, 84, formerly of the 400 block of Kay Road, died Oct. 5, 1995, in an Elizabeth City, N.C., hospital.
Mr. Wilkins, a native of Portsmouth, was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a painter.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Roberts Wilkins; three sisters, Hazel Hagwood and Margaret Wilkins, both of Portsmouth, Dorothy Edwards of Atlanta; two brothers, Cleveland Wilkins and Vernon Wilkins, both of Portsmouth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Irene Rollins, Frank and Ruby Roberts, all of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Sarah Roberts of Portsmouth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Raymond H. Edmonds. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to Britthaven Nursing Home of the Outer Banks, 430 West Health Center Dr., Nags Head, N.C. 27959.
