Cecil Earl ``Mickey'' Meeks, 60, of Wright Avenue, died Oct. 3, 1995, in his residence.
He was a native of Wilson, N.C., and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he was a former pipefitter and a supervisor in the Nuclear Training and Record Division.
Survivors include two sons, Sonny C. Meeks of Portsmouth, Dennis R. Meeks of Chesapeake; four sisters, Peggy Holloman of Rocky Mount, N.C., Nancy Hall of Sunbury, N.C., Patricia Worrel of Portsmouth, and Lynda Stilwell of Norfolk; three brothers, Leroy Meeks of Emporia, Va., Garland D. Meeks of Chesapeake, Alton Ray Meeks of Sunbury; one granddaughter, Bobbi Jo; and two stepgranddaughters, Elizabeth and Sierra.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Jamey Stewart. Burial will be in Quantico National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
